Polished Daughters

By Sis Adetola Akinseye

Psalm 144:12: “That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace”

When some- thing is polished, it  means it is smooth and  glossy, refined, cultured or elegant, flawless, skillful and excellent.  Having the right heart will help us to be relevant in life and in ministry.

We should understand and know the difference between being a good woman and being a great woman.  You should not use outward aids to make yourselves beautiful, such as the way you fix your hair, or the jewelry you put on, or the dresses you wear. Instead, your beauty should consist of your beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.

Having a right heart means a change must occur from your inside before it can manifest to the outside. God is more interested in you being transformed from the inside out.

You will have good success this 2016.
Remain blessed.

Children of Light in a Dying World

By Sammy Mbila

In this month of our “SUNRISE AND SUNSHINE” we must make a self determined effort to examine some core concepts about the Biblical Children of Light.

The word of God tells us in John 8:12 that God is Light! therefore if God is light everyone under God’s shadow is under the light and can safely be called a child of light. Mathew 5:14 says we are the light of the world so as Children in Dominion Mercy Seat we can boldly proclaim ourselves as “CHILDREN OF LIGHT” because we are God’s children before becoming the children of our biological parents.

The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…….” And in Psalm 139:13 the word of God tells us that “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb”. In Mathew 19:14 Jesus said “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these”. In Luke 18:16 and Mark 10:14 Jesus made the same plea that Children should be allowed to come to HIM.

We must therefore examine some important assurances and commands from God for Children of Light in Dominion Mercy Seat.

We must:
1. Be a “Timothy” to our teachers and parents. Philippians 2:19-20
2. We must be a light to our friends in School especially those who do not believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Isaiah 49:6B
3. We must remain chosen. Isaiah 49:7
4. We must not fellowship with unbelievers. Ephesians 5:11
5. We must readily forgive. Mathew 18:2-4; Ephesians 4:32 and Colossians 3:13

You will have good success this 2016.

Remain blessed.

Walking in Sunshine

By Deac. Kemi Epedi

There are various places in the Bible where the verse begins with an action word –Rejoice, Be Bold, Believe, Pray without ceasing, etc.

These passages make us understand that God is giving us a direct instruction; and that He expects a corresponding response from us. So when you see ‘Arise and shine!’ the implication is ‘You arise!’ and ‘You shine!’ And the appropriate response from us should be “I will arise and I will shine”.   Why is it important that we respond this way?  Because embedded in us is the anointing and empowerment to fulfill it.

So when you refuse to respond appropriately, you deny yourself the opportunity to walk in power and victory in that specific area of your life. When God says Arise, He is not considering your own ability; He is considering the power and anointing that is saturated in that command, ‘Arise’.  The reality is that life will knock you down.

However, you must make up your mind as to whether you will stay down or get back up again. Even when you are standing, God still expects you to arise.  Why?  Because if you do not arise, you cannot really shine; and the world cannot come to your light.

You will have good success this 2016.

Light in the Night

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale

There are many biblical interpretations of night.  1st Thessalonians 5:5-8 tells us that sins are committed in the night or darkness - “For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.

But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled” Night time is generally an unpleasant time.

It is a time of sadness and weeping for some (Psalm 30:5), wearisome to the afflicted, lonely, favorable to the purpose of the wicked, wild beasts go forth in search of prey during the night, time of stumbling, of spiritual darkness, seasons of severe calamities, of spiritual desertion, even death.

Night time could be bitter, hellish, unpalatable, and painful. But thank God that those in their nighttime are not left alone, they are not hopeless. Zechariah 14:7 says – “At night time it shall be light”. There is light in the dark tunnel.

Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death we shall fear no evil, for He is with us; His rod and His staff they comfort us. Are you going through a nighttime experience right now?

Things are just not working your way; you weep inwardly…Arise, shine, my brothers & sisters, for thy light has come.  “At night time it shall be light”

Arise and Shine

Isaiah 60:1 – “Arise; Shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee …” The main reason given by Isaiah why the people should arise and shine is because their light has come and the glory of the LORD is risen upon them.

In this verse, the light referred to here is our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God.

4: 6 refers to Him as the Sun of Righteousness. John 8:12 and 9:5 describes Jesus Christ as the "Light of the world" The “rising and shining” of our light also has to do with God's glory shining through us.

This succeeding verses mentioned this – “the glory of the Lord is risen upon you” and “But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you” We have no light of our own, except that which comes from the Lord. And with the coming of the greater the lesser terminates.

No matter how great a situation, person or thing is, when a greater, stronger and more dominant appears, the lesser is done away with. Light terminates darkness. When Light comes, darkness flees, scampers away, ab-sconds… John 1:5 – “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not” I declare that every darkness in our lives shall give way to the light of God...

You will have good success this 2016.

Meekness is not Weakness

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale

Numbers 12:3 - Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth In Numbers 16:1-35 some people gathered themselves together against Moses, their leader was called Korah and his immediate colleague is Dathan and Abiram.

They say are you the only elders in this town? You hear from God we also hear from God, you Moses, you are the prophet, your elder brother Aaron you made him priest, your sister Miriam, you ask her to lead the choir, you want to turn the church to family business and Moses said I am not the one doing it God sent me to do it, they said God has sent them too.

Then Moses said in that case let God decide.  And God said gather people together and those who are on your side let them stay on your side and those people who are on the side of the other, let them stay at their side. Suddenly the ground opens and swallow the rebels.

When we hear the word meek, many times we think of someone who is weak, shy and reserved. The image is that meek people cannot stand up for them-selves and everyone runs over them. No! Meekness is not weakness, it is strength under control. There are times when running away from something takes more courage than staying.

It takes more courage to walk away from a fight than to raise your fists;  It takes more courage to keep your mouth shut than return a curse.  MEEKNESS is not WEAKNESS. 1st Peter 5:5 – “…Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble…”

You will have good success this 2016.

Men who Know their God

By Daniel Sangoleye

Have you ever found yourself in a situation that makes you ask yourself question like; what is wrong with my Christian Life? Why do I have to be the victim? Why can’t I have joy like other Christians?

If any of these questions sounds familiar to you, then you might want to re-evaluate your Stand with God; your understanding of Him and your relationship with Him.  John 16 33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have over-come the world.”

Christian life is not one without ups and down, and Christians are not people without hope. But our assurance is embedded in the word of God, Daniel 11:32 declared that “but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”

There is, the need for an understanding of the God we serve for our exploit. Knowing God also brings us closer Him, and when we are closer to him, we become spiritually strong and rest is guaranteed. Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

You will have good success this 2016.
