...But by His Spirit

By: Pastor 'Deji Adewale

Zechariah 4:6 - “This is the word of the LORD unto Ze-rubba-bel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Two cases.  One in Judges 19 & 20. The tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin and demanded the culprits of some dastardly act of gang-rape & murder to be handed over to them for appropriate judgment, so as to put away evil from Israel.

But rather, the children of Benjamin defiantly mobilized for war against the children of Israel.

Three times the children of Israel sought counsel from God about going to war against the tribe of Benjamin and three times God gave them a go-ahead.

However, they got different results. And another in 1st King 20:1-21. Ben-hadad, the king of Syria, gathered his entire host together against the extremely idolatrous king Ahab and his evil wife, Jezebel.

In spite of Ahab’s dastardly sins, not only did God send a message of hope to the idolatrous King Ahab, He actually delivered on His promise by giving King Ahab an unexpected resounding victory over that great enemy host.

We win, succeed, excel, breakthrough or prosper, surely, not by our own might or power, but by the working of God’s precious Spirit inside of us.

So next time you encounter a problem, face challenges or sense a battle around you, remember Zechariah 4:6. Halleluyah.

You will have good success this 2017.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

Living Under the Influence - LUI

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale

Driving under the influence (DUI), or driving while intoxicated (DWI), is the crime of operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol or other drugs (including recreational drugs and those prescribed by physicians), to a level that renders the driver incapable of operating a motor vehicle safely. Okay.

So, if Christians are not to be drunk with wine, where do they find joy and happiness? The answer is in the Bible, specifically Ephesians 5:18b - " And do not get drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but instead be filled with the Spirit."

What does this mean? As Christians, it means our thrills, our exhilaration, and our happiness should be the result of being filled with the Holy Spirit, not from being filled with wine.

And what alcohol is to your body negatively, the Holy Spirit is to your new nature positively. When you're under His control, He makes you walk in ways you wouldn't normally walk, and talk in ways you wouldn't normally talk.

The Spirit-filled life is overflowing with gratitude, joy, right relation-ships, and good behavior—quite a contrast to those enslaved by alcohol. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.

You will have good success this 2017.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

Polished Daughters

By Sis Adetola Akinseye

Psalm 144:12: “That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace”

When some- thing is polished, it  means it is smooth and  glossy, refined, cultured or elegant, flawless, skillful and excellent.  Having the right heart will help us to be relevant in life and in ministry.

We should understand and know the difference between being a good woman and being a great woman.  You should not use outward aids to make yourselves beautiful, such as the way you fix your hair, or the jewelry you put on, or the dresses you wear. Instead, your beauty should consist of your beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.

Having a right heart means a change must occur from your inside before it can manifest to the outside. God is more interested in you being transformed from the inside out.

You will have good success this 2016.
Remain blessed.
Shalom.

Divine Contact

By: Pastor 'Deji Adewale

Contact means to establish communication with someone or a touch or an observation or receiving of a significant signal from a person or object.

Divine Contact is, therefore, communication with, coming in contact, having an encounter with or a touch from God. In Luke 7, there was a widow in a city called Nain, she had only one son, & this single son died.

The woman was left unhappy, heartbroken & sorrowful. And as they were going to bury this young man, they came into contact the Lord. As they met the Lord, sorrow came to an end, all the oppression in the heart came to an end.

How did that happen? Jesus stretches out His hand and He touched the coffin and the man got up and he became alive again.  Luke 6:19 says “And the whole multitude sought to touch Him: for there went virtue out of Him, and healed them all” It doesn’t matter how many or how far in the crowd you are, once you come in contact with His presence, words, shadow, His Spirit, your shame, sickness, sorrow etc. come to an end.

As you receive the touch of God, & you keep in touch with God this month of March, everything that is hitherto dead in your life, marriage and finances shall come alive, in Jesus Name Amen.
