Receiving Double Portion

From Our Pastor's Desk

Near the end of Elijah’s time on earth, he offered his assistant Elisha a gift: “What can I do for you before I am taken from you?”

Elisha answered, “Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me” – 2nd Kings 2:9. Elisha received a double portion from Elijah. Elisha received because of his faithfulness, amongst other virtues.

Even though Elijah and the sons of the prophets both seemed to try to dissuade Elisha from following, he was faithful. He was not going to be dissuaded.  A faithful Christian will not be pulled away from serving the Lord by a whim or by some unimportant, irrelevant, trivial reason.

A lot of people are simply sitting, waiting for something to fall out of Heaven. You need to commit to a good local church and do your part to help make it a great church. Join up and then show up! Many of us are just involved in the ministry (nonchalantly, waiting to be told before they do, and unreliable).

Few are just committed (but when push comes to shove, they have alternatives). Only a few are really faithful, tending towards loyalty.  2 Timothy 2:2 – “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also” 1 Corinthians 4:2 – “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” Elisha knew how to serve.

Do you want the double portion anointing? Get involved in church or a ministry and start serving. When you serve you are sowing your life as seed for an anointing that one day will be yours.

Double portion is available, for those who are faithful, committed, humble servant leaders. You will then see yourself scaling new heights supernaturally  and breaking new grounds; accomplishing new things that eyes have not seen nor ears heard.

You will have good success this 2017.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

Remember the Times

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale.
RCCG Dominion Mercy Seat

Think back, recall, recollect, recapture…bring back the memories…

Deuteronomy 8:1–2 “All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers. And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no”

As we get to the end of the year 2016, it is important that we take a look at what has been happening in our lives so far. So much has happened this year. Some of them made us happy. Others made us sad. Whatever your experiences have been this year, it is important to reflect and make sense of what & where you’ve come from, where you’re going, and where you want to get to.

In the scripture above, God instructed Israel not to forget the important things that have happened to them. When we forget our experiences, we fail to glorify God and appreciate what He does for us. Some times manna came, and other times manna ceased. But all for experiences sake, so that we may grow thereby.

As you take time to reflect on these soberly, His grace will be upon you to look back and be thankful to Him. Remember your journey. We have all been and are all on a journey. Remember the times and…Be very Thankful

You will have good success this 2016.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

Believe His Prophets & You'll Prosper

By Pastor Joyce Waterman
Jersey city Council Woman at Large

2nd Chronicles 20:20 the word of God says “…if you believe in God you will be established, if you believe His prophet you will prosper”.  And in Hosea 12:13 the bible says that “it is by prophet that God delivered Israel out of Egypt and it is by another prophet that Israel was preserved” When you handle anointing properly you will prosper, you will be preserved.

Numbers16:1-35 shows us an interesting account. Some people gathered themselves together  against Moses. The leader of the rebellious  group was called Korah and his immediate col- league was Dathan and Abi-ram. They said to  Moses, “are you the only elder in this  town?” You hear from God we also hear from  God. Is this ministry your family business?

You Moses, you are the prophet, your elder  brother Aaron you made him  priest, your sister Miriam, you  ask her to lead the choir; you  want to turn the church to family business. But humble and  gentle Moses said I am not the one doing it, God sent me to do it.

Ha!, God has sent us too, they said. Then Moses said in that case let God decide.  And God said gather people together and those who are on your side let them stay on your side and those people who are on the side of the other, let them stay at their side.

Suddenly the ground opened and swallowed the rebels.  If you respect divine anointing you will prosper, if you mishandle divine anointing, the price can be very high. “…if you believe in God you will be established, if you believe His prophet you will prosper”.

You will have good success this 2016.
Remain blessed.
