Peace Like a River

By: Pastor Dr. Oladotun Reju

John 14:27 - “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”.

Peace means rest, safety, good health, quietness, prosperity. Peace is being calm and having no troubles what so ever, even in the midst of chaos or storm.

Peace is truce, ceasefire, treaty, armistice, pacification, conciliation, cessation of hostilities, rest, stillness, calmness.  All the listed meanings of peace can never be experienced in life except God is involved.

It is only the peace of God that can allow someone to live in trouble times and with the threat of persecution all around.  Peace from above is available but only to those that are close to God and put their trust in Him.

Psalms 9:10  And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Psalms 125:1  They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

Psalms 18:30  As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

Know that “storms without God will break you. Storms with God will make you” From this moment onward you will begin to enjoy peace – physical peace, financial peace, spiritual peace, all-round peace, in Jesus Name.

You will have good success this 2017.
Remain blessed.
Shalom.

Peace of the Puzzle

By Master Rilwan Daniel Olunlade

Peace is being calm and having no troubles what so ever.  There can be no room for jealousy, envy, bad temper, selfishness, or pride in a soul filled with peace, for all these things are disturbing factors in the heart.

Our sense of peace comes from God. In the Scriptures, we are told not to be anxious or fearful, but rather to trust in God and His Word. Proverbs 3:5 says  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding”.

As much as we want we should try not to feel anxious about the things that weighs heavy on our hearts because it will quickly fade away with the Lord in our lives.  John 14:27 says “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart.

And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. The world cannot give you peace, only the Lord can.

God promises to “keep in perfect peace all who trust in [Him], all whose thoughts are fixed on Him. How perfect is God’s peace you might ask.

Well, God’s peace is perfect in QUALITY. It is not an imperfect peace. It is the peace that calms you down even when things are rough.  God’s peace is perfect in QUANTITY. It meets our exact needs.

God’s peace is perfect in CONSTANCY. It is permanent and forever for as long as we live.

You will have good success this 2017.

Remain blessed.  Shalom.

The Great Peace of God

By: Pastor 'Tayo Adewale

Peace, according to the dictionary means freedom from disturbance. While in the Bible it actually means not just the absence of trouble or conflict, but the calm in the midst of the storm, according to Ephesians 2:14.

The Hebrew meaning of Peace is Shalom, meaning wellness. We live in a world full of war and violence, yet God promises us great, perfect peace

Psalm 29:11. Peace even in the midst of trouble, we all need peace. Everyone desires peace. I don't know anyone of sane mind and decent character, who would chose conflict and chaos over peace.

We all have one or two things we are disturbed by, so peace is a universal need and God has an answer for it. The Lord didn't promise that we will live a problem free life, but He did say we will have His peace.

This peace is from the throne room of God. Not the type of peace the world gives, like peace through yoga meditation, alcohol, cigarettes, sex, music, medicine or whatever. It's the great, perfect peace of God like a river that surpasses all human understanding. Halleluyah!

God wants to give you true peace. You cannot experience that if you are not at peace with God, the Prince of Peace Himself. Let's stop looking for peace of mind when God wants to give us mind of peace. Peace regulates the day when Jesus Christ regulates the mind.

No peace without Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace Himself. Isaiah 9:6

The Prince of Peace

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale

John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”

Peace. Picture peace for a moment. What comes to mind is rest, quietness, harmony, safety, good health… all things good.

The other side (antonym) of peace is war. Trouble, lack of rest, disturbance, everything unpleasant, pressure, tension, insecurities, unrest, or the common Biblical word - storm.

Anytime we hear the word storm; ugly pictures go through our minds. Storms have resulted in different levels of nervous and emotional strain. Sometimes, we look around and do not know where to cast anchor.

However, at the centre or in the midst of every storm lies calmness and peace. In Mark 4:35-41, the Bible tells us that at one time when the disciples were in the boat with Jesus, there was a storm and Jesus was sleeping when they woke Him up, He spoke to the storm.

All He said was Peace Be Still. And suddenly everything became calm. So that people came to him and say “what manner of man is this, that the wind and the sea obeyed Him?”

Same way, the Prince of Peace is in the boat of our lives. He will speak peace to every financial, marital, physical, spiritual, emotional, professional, career storms of our lives, in Jesus Name. You will have good success this 2017.

Remain blessed.
Shalom.

From Our Pastor's Desk - July 2017 Our Month of Great Peace

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale

Welcome to this Our New Month of Great Peace, in Jesus name.

Psalms 119:165—”Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them”

Peace means rest, safety, good health, quietness, prosperity.

Jesus Christ personifies peace and He promised it to all of us who are His.In this life, situations could disturb our peace, sometimes for a little while, or for a relatively long time, either at individual, family or corporate level.

Mark 5:35-41 told us about Jesus in the boat with the disciples when a storm arose. This means, even as Christians, storms of life could still arise.

But since we have Jesus in our boat, no matter the storm, we will never sink. Great is the peace that Jesus gives.

He is the Prince of Peace. Jesus only had to say a word to the storm – “PEACE”, and the storm stilled. He didn’t have to repeat Himself. Jesus says in John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” This month, the Prince of peace will speak peace to all our storms, physical, spiritual, financial etc.

He will divert every future storm away from us. There shall be no more storms, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Joy as a Weapon

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale

JOY is an effective weapon. It can destroy fear, anxiety, discouragement, loneliness,
timidity, and reveal the glory of the Lord!

Though some people use the terms happiness and joy interchangeably, there is a vast difference in their meaning. Both cause a pleasant emotional response, but the former relies entirely upon circumstance.

As soon as difficulty arises and pain intrudes, a person ceases to be happy. On the other hand, joy is a gift from God that enables believers to find hope and peace—even when life seemingly falls apart.

If you are a follower of Jesus but lack gladness, take a moment to remember who Christ
is and who you are in Him. To begin with, you are saved eternally, and your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The love of almighty God is unconditional, and His indwelling Spirit will
never abandon you. He understands everything that you face and
promises to provide for your needs.

When you stop to consider the amazing blessings that are yours in Christ, gratitude will likely overwhelm you. Sadness concerning circumstances may still endure, but the joy of the Lord will
carry you through even the deepest pain Nehemiah said unto the people in Nehemiah 8:9-10 - “…This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength”

You will have good success this 2016.
Remain blessed.
Shalom.

Appreciating their Efforts

By Deaconess Oluchi Mfon

1st Thessalonians 5:12-13— "“And we beseech you brethren to know them which labour among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake.

And be at peace among yourselves". Appreciation  builds relationship, people cannot know you  appreciate them if you do not tell them how  important they are to you.

When you compliment people it build lasting relationship and  help people know they are valued.  Remember your  leaders/ministers who first  taught you the word of God Hebrews 13:7—”Remember  them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation” Think of all the good that has come from their lives and stop finding faults.

Several ways to show them our appreciation: speak loving words, remember them in your prayers daily, supporting the ministry financially as Apostle Paul emphasized in 1 Corinthians 9:4-10. As believers when we do not treat the ministers God has given the church with honor, how can we say we honor God?

Let’s appreciate their efforts, and many including the heavens will appreciate you too. God bless you.

You will have good success this 2016.
Remain blessed.
Shalom.
