Facing Your Giants

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale

1st Samuel 17: 10-11 – “And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together. When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid” Every man faces Goliath. He taunts, He deceives, He attacks and His mission is to defeat us.

Whatever Goliath you may be facing, His purpose is to destroy your life. As God raises you up and elevates you, there are going to be challenges. One of those challenges is a Goliath challenge. For some of us, Goliath may not be a physical giant, could be a sickness, disability…anything that threat-ens to stop you from becoming who God wants you to be. For some it’s a habit, or a human being at your job stopping you from making progress.

We can’t avoid Goliath; he is necessary to our growth as Christians. Your Goliath may be an addiction, habit, attitude, a job layoff, financial problems, marital problems, illness. Goliath for you maybe bitterness, unsettled matter, problem from the past, difficult moral decision, sexual immorality, alcoholism, unforgiveness etc. You think if you try to quit that habit or fight that problem, your life will change too much; you’re afraid you stand to lose too much if you try to defeat our Goliath,

Immediately David was anointed king, he was thrown into a massive life challenge. The anointing on your life will attract significantly great challenge. Whenever God calls you & anoints you, He exposes you to a challenge. Are you ready?

You will have good success this 2016.
Remain blessed.
Shalom.

The Coronation of King David

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale

After God removed Saul “He raised up David to be their king, of whom He testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will” - Acts 13:22.  God had said the same in 1st Sam. 13:14; God told Saul through Samuel that “the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people, because you (Saul) have not kept the LORD’s command” .

So Samuel the priest went to the town of Bethlehem and visited a man called Jesse and his family. He asked to see Jesse’s sons, and one by one they all came in to stand in front of him. First of all the oldest son, Eliab, came in. He was tall and strong and good-looking, and Samuel thought to himself, “This has to be the one God has chosen!”

But, God said to Samuel, No. “Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart”

So the next son came in, and Samuel said, “This isn’t the one God wants either.” All seven sons passed and Samuel didn’t choose any of them. Then there were no more.

So Samuel was a little bit puzzled. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children?  And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. Soon David arrived; he was young, ruddy, strong and good looking, and God said to Samuel,

“And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he, king of Israel”

You will have good success this 2016.

Remain blessed.
