All By Myself?

From Our Pastor's Desk

In Luke 5:5-7, after using Peter's boat to preach Jesus tells him to put out his nets in the deep for a catch. Peter and his crew have been out fishing the whole night and they caught nothing.

Peter says at your word Lord I will put out the nets. Peter and his crew enclose such a huge number of fish that so much that the nets start breaking.

Peter realizes we cannot handle this on our own we need help otherwise we are doomed. Then, Peter calls for help from their partners.

God has not designed us to be loners and lone rangers, in life and in ministry. It’s not only unhealthy; it’s simply not God’s will or God’s way.

God’s children & His kingdom are built on partnerships. If Peter had nor summoned for his partners for help, it would have been a disaster. The fish was so much it was sinking two sinking boats.

Without the partners all would have been lost but because the partners came in to support and everybody went home with more fish than they had ever caught.  No matter how powerful you are, if you stand alone you are simply on your way to a fall.

The wise man, Solomon, said it like this in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 – “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken” As you partner with God & Godly people, your victory is certain, in Jesus Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2018.
Remain blessed.
Shalom
