We Do Not Well, If...

From Our Pastor's Desk

2nd Kings 7:9 - “Then they said one to another, We do not well: this is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace...”

The city of Samaria was under severe famine in the land. God in a mysterious way sacked the invading Syrian army, who left behind plenty of food and other precious things, but the Samaritans knew nothing of this miracle.

Four lepers discovered the miracle, had their fill and wanted to hide the rest for themselves. Then they told themselves, “We do not well”, in other words, “What we are doing is not right”.

We should not be silent with this good news. Do not withhold or hoard the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Know it, believe it and share it.

You will have good success this 2018.

Remain blessed.

When You're God's Partner

From our Pastor's Desk

A person that abides in Christ has in divine partnership. Any force or person who says such person will not succeed, God will deal with such a force or fellow in accordance with Romans 8:31 – “What shall we then say to these things?

If God be for us, who can be against us?” In our main text (for the past 7 months) of Luke 5:1-11, Peter accepted to partner with Jesus, when he became a “fishless fisherman”, got to his wits end in career/profession, he saw the stark reality of abject failure. But the Lord supplied what he lacked and he took a catch he had never taken all his fishing years.

When you’re God’s partner and you let the Lord into your boat and accept His divine partnership, your limitations become your starting point.  When you set your eyes on the enemy you will end as a dwarf but when you see God, you end as a giant.

In 1st Sam.17:26-50; David was a partner with God.
He focused on God; and Goliath became a dwarf….but the other Israel army, David’s brothers and even king Saul focused on Goliath, and he was to them a giant. In Numbers 14:9; Caleb & Joshua focused on God and saw the Anakim giants as bread for their consumption. But the other spies focused on the giants and saw themselves as grasshoppers.

When you’re God’s partner and you set your eyes on Him, you become the apple of God's eyes; the secret of success that is in Christ is given to you, God makes available for you grace more than those who are qualified and you become unstoppable. God upholds His partners with His victorious right hand, and He will do same for you, in Jesus Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2018.

Remain blessed.

#LoveThySelfie

By Sis Biola Adeleye

When Jesus talked about the greatest commandment of all, He quoted Deuteronomy 6:5 and said we are to love God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our might.

But He also added the second greatest commandment in Mark 12:31 – “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” The second command, the latter, is worthy of note. There's something important here that we shouldn’t miss.

How can someone love another person if they don't love themselves? “You cannot give away something you don't have in you.”  One must have a measure or degree of love for one-self before one can love one’s neighbor.

The yard-stick of the command is the love for ourselves. It’s that yardstick we use as measure to love others. We all need to accept ourselves, embrace our personalities and even our imperfections, knowing that although we are not where we need to be, we are making progress.

Jesus died for us because we have weaknesses and imperfections, and we don't have to reject ourselves because of them. God wants us to love ourselves and enjoy how He's made us! The Bible indicates that it is proper, even necessary, to love yourself. Such love includes caring for yourself, respecting yourself, and having a sense of self-worth.

Rather than glorifying selfishness, the Bible puts self-love in its rightful place. The Lord will take away every spirit of self-pity & low self-esteem in our lives, in Jesus Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2018.
Remain blessed.

The Power of Partnership

By Bro. Daniel Sangoleye

You can never harness the full impact of your God given potentials, until you identify your partner. God has deposited so much resources into our lives, so much that it’s way too much for you alone.

Bible says in Leviticus 26:8a “Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand.” There is power in partnership One of the first lessons learnt at creation is partnership.

God says in Genesis 2:18 “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” God knows the significance of partnership.  You are not created to be alone, if you want to have dominion over all, identify your partner.

Jesus Christ also displayed partnership in the new testament, in Luke 5, when He used Peter’s boat to preach the gospel by the lake of Gennesaret. In return, Jesus instructed Peter to let down his net for a catch.

Peter trusted, obeyed the word of the Master, and he experienced overflow. According to the scripture in Luke 5:6-7, “And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. 7 They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.”

According to Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, don’t take a solo flight in your journey of life, partner with God, and other believers. And as you do so, your victory is certain, in Jesus Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2018.
Remain blessed.

All By Myself?

From Our Pastor's Desk

In Luke 5:5-7, after using Peter's boat to preach Jesus tells him to put out his nets in the deep for a catch. Peter and his crew have been out fishing the whole night and they caught nothing.

Peter says at your word Lord I will put out the nets. Peter and his crew enclose such a huge number of fish that so much that the nets start breaking.

Peter realizes we cannot handle this on our own we need help otherwise we are doomed. Then, Peter calls for help from their partners.

God has not designed us to be loners and lone rangers, in life and in ministry. It’s not only unhealthy; it’s simply not God’s will or God’s way.

God’s children & His kingdom are built on partnerships. If Peter had nor summoned for his partners for help, it would have been a disaster. The fish was so much it was sinking two sinking boats.

Without the partners all would have been lost but because the partners came in to support and everybody went home with more fish than they had ever caught.  No matter how powerful you are, if you stand alone you are simply on your way to a fall.

The wise man, Solomon, said it like this in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 – “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken” As you partner with God & Godly people, your victory is certain, in Jesus Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2018.
Remain blessed.

August 2018 - Our Month of Godly Partnership

 From Our Pastor's Desk

Welcome to this Our New Month of Godly Partnership, in Jesus name.

Luke 5: 7 - “And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them” Peter got so much net-breaking & boat-sinking fish, he needed help from their partners. The kingdom of God is built on partnerships.

A partnership is a cooperative relationship between people who agree to share responsibility & achieve same goal. It’s a fellowship. God does not give everything to one person. One may have just the finances, & another just the ideas.

When they come together, each bringing what they have then the outcome is amazing and God gets the glory. 1st Cor. 12:12 says “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one  body: so also is Christ” Most of God’s greatest servants in the Bible never served alone.

God’s intention is not for anyone to go through life all alone & without any assistance. Solomon said in Eccl. 4:9 – “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up…”

There are some battles one cannot fight alone. There are some enemies one cannot defeat alone. We need partners. This Month of Godly Partnership, we will not lack needed help.

God will send Godly partners of destiny our way, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.
