God's Covenant of "Never Again!"

From Our Pastor's Desk

Genesis 8:21 – “The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.”

When there are repeated tragedies, misfortunes re-occurring again and again; when there is a noticeable continual happenstance of evil patterns, then a ‘Never Again’ resolve is often the response or reaction of an individual or a people who have suffered such a tragedy or tragedies of monumental proportion.

It is a prophetic proclamation and resolution to do everything possible and necessary to prevent the recurrence of such tragedy or tragedies.

After the devastating flood that wiped humans from the earth because of their sinful abominable ways that met with the wrath of God, save Noah, his family and animals paired.

Noah raised an altar of thanksgiving, prayer and fellowship unto God. He took clean animals of all kinds and offered them as burnt offering unto the LORD.

God smelled a sweet savour from Noah’s altar and was moved to make a covenant of ‘Never Again’ with him.

Genesis 9:11- “I establish m y covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth…”

God set a rainbow in the sky to remind man and Himself that He would ‘Never Again’ use flood to destroy all the earth.  So, I decree today, the evil, disappointments and heartbreak you saw & experienced in 2019, never again shall you see them in 2020 and beyond, in Jesus Name. AMEN.

You will have good success this 2019.
Remain blessed.

Renewing the Covenant

By Deaconess Kemi Epidi

The Old Testament reveals that the covenant God had with the people during Exodus is pretty one sided – that it requires much more of God than it does the people – but still they were unable to remain faithful. And that even though the people fall away from it time and again, God never terminates the Covenant, but instead calls on the people to renew their relationship with Him.

In 2 Chronicles 34:30, Josiah and his people renewed the covenant after a period of reverting to the worship of foreign idols.

In Jeremiah 31:33, during the rise of the Assyrians and Babylonians and the siege of Jerusalem, we find this promise from God.  “This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel declares the Lord. I will put my law in their hearts.  I will be their God and they will be my people”.

And this theme of renewing the Covenant carried on into the New Testament.  In a sense, God sent Jesus as a renewal of the Covenant.   We ought to periodically revisit and renew our Covenant with God and one another.

God’s covenant with us is a covenant based on relationship, and our relationships only survive and thrive when we spend time with one another. So, we should spend the time with God and request that God should grant us a fresh outpouring of His Holy Spirit.

We are to reflect on the wonders of God and His incomprehensible excellence, reflect on ourselves – our sinful nature (and seek fogginess and grace), repent of our iniquities and resolve to keep going and keep pressing on.  Commit ourselves to Christ as His servants.

Christ has many services to be done.  Some are easy and honorable; others are more difficult.  Some are suitable to our inclinations and interests; others are contrary to both.

In some we may please Christ and ourselves. But then there are other works where we cannot please Christ except by denying ourselves.

It is necessary therefore, as we renew this Covenant with God that we consider what it means to be a servant of Christ. God’s blessings, in Jesus Name. AMEN.  You will have good success this 2019.  Remain blessed. Shalom.

Beware of Crafty Covenants

From Our Pastor's Desk

1st Samuel 11:2 – “And Nahash the A mmonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel”

The entire account of 1st Samuel 11 is about Nahash, the ammonite besieging Jabesh-Gilead – a town on the East of Jordan. The people of the land were willing to serve Nahash and requested of him to sign a covenant/treaty with them.

But listen to what Nahash said above. The defenseless elders of Jabesh-Gilead responded “And the elders of Jabesh said unto him, Give us seven days' respite that we may send messengers unto all the coasts of Israel: and then, if there be no man to save us, we will come out to thee”

To this, Nahash raised no objection. Where on earth would they be able to secure help? Nahas would have told himself. The messengers from Jabesh went to Gibeah and narrated their ordeal, upon hearing which the people of Gibeah lifted up their voices and wept.

Even though this was quite kind of the people, it fell far short of what the people of Jabesh needed. They didn’t need sympathizers or co-weepers. What they needed was help.

When Saul (of Gibeah) heard the news, the Spirit of God came upon him and he mobilized the men of Israel and Judah for war. The messengers were then sent back to Jabesh with this message: "Thus you shall say to the men of Jabesh Gile-ad:'Tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, you shall have help.'"

For those of us that have knowingly or otherwise, covenanted with the crafty Nahash-es of this world, the Lord of Host will break such covenants, in the name of Jesus. The Nahashes of this world are determined to thrust you in darkness, put you in utter nakedness and disgrace.

To whom have we gone for help? Soothsayers? Stargazers? Palm Readers? Psychics? Witch Doctors? I break every evil covenant, evil oath and treaty, and eveil pronouncements with any Nahash, over our lives & that of our loved ones by the Blood of Jesus.

The Help of the helpless, Jehovah Sabaoth will arise to release us from any evil covenant of the crafty, in Jesus Name. AMEN.

You will have good success this 2019.

Remain blessed.

Shalom

Covenant of Blood

By Pastor Tayo Adewale

Everlasting covenant is an ancient covenant, new and better one. God has made this covenant with us through the precious blood of His son.

The Hebrew word for covenant is “Berith” meaning “fetter cutting”. Covenant is between two people, you do your part, I do my part, but with the ancient covenant, He does it all.

We bring nothing to the table. And it’s all because of the love He has for us. This ancient covenant shows us not who we are, but who God is.

Almighty, Merciful, and Loving Father.  His covenant for us is just because He decided to choose and love us not because of any of our good works, intelligence or self-imposed righteousness.

God’s covenant is a blessing. Titus 3:5-7. No sacrifices will come to pass without the shedding of blood. Heb. 9:7. The everlasting covenant blood gives us everything we need in life.

His blood is the importance of His love. We receive healing, forgiveness of sins, protection, oneness, authority, boldness, abundance, through His blood.

What else do we need in life that the Precious Covenant Blood of Jesus Christ has not offered? The question is, how many of us use and apply His blood in our lives every day? The blood that speaks, heal, deliver, set free, and protect....Halleluyah!

May His Covenant of Blood avail for us, in Jesus Name. AMEN.  You will have good success this 2019.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.
