From Our Pastor's Desk
Isaiah 55:8-9 - “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Our God is a God of infinite varieties, He has unlimited ways of doing His things. Of Him the Apostle Paul testifies, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!” - Romans 11:33. He is good and works in the best interests of all who put their trust in Him. There is much we stand to benefit, if only we are going to give Him the right of way in the matters of our life.
Naaman was a Syrian military general with great prowess, but he was a leper. He carried the shame of his condition for several years until, by divine providence, he got useful hints about how to be cured of his leprosy.
Then he went down to Samaria. 2nd Kings 5:9-14 has his story. The thoughts of Naaman were that Prophet Elisha would make obeisance before him & make some enchanting call upon his god to cure him of his leprosy.
But the man felt so disappointed, humiliated and infuriated, that Elisha did none of those things. Namaan embarked on a return journey home, with his leprosy intact. If not for the persuasion of his more reasonable servants, the great warrior would have missed the miracle of his life and remained shamefully leprous for the rest of his life.
This teaches us, Brethren, that it’s not about how and when we want God to do things in our lives, it’s about giving God the 100% right of way to do as He wills.
We shall not lose our victory, in Jesus Name. AMEN.
You will have good success this 2017.
Remain blessed. Shalom.
