Are You a Waiter?

By Pastor 'Deji Adewale

Isaiah 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I want to look at this from another perspective. The perspective of waiters at a restaurant (server), not those waiting for something to come or happen and doing nothing. A waiter  serves. It is those who stoop to serve that will  rise to lead.

Waiters are the  customer service arm of the food and beverage industry – literally, with the trays of  food and drinks they carry from kitchen  to customers’ tables.  They take or-ders, convey them to the  kitchen and deliver the completed dish to the table.

They also clean the dining area and respond to customer queries. Just like ministers who stand as go-between God & His people. They minister to God on behalf of His children; and minister to God’s children on His behalf.

The alternative terms “waitperson” and “server” are becoming increasingly popular. Waiters are responsible for ensuring the continued satisfaction of customers at a restaurant, answering questions and bringing food.

Jesus' example of servanthood couldn't be truer than in a restaurant. Successful leadership begins with commitment to servanthood. Accredited servants always end as acclaimed leaders. Will you serve as one of God’s waiters?

You will have good success this 2016.
Remain blessed.
Shalom
