We Will Serve the Lord

From Our Pastor’s Desk

Joshua 24:15 – “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD”

Many of us are pew-warmers. But inside of us are talents and gifts that need to be stirred up for God’s use, as apostle Paul told Timothy in 2nd Timothy 1:6, saying “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee…”

When things are not working the way they should, we get frustrated.

If you put your money in a vending machine, and the machine failed to give you your soda or snack, you get angry and/or frustrated.

Well, are you frustrating God by not doing exactly what He intended you to do when He created you?

Are you working according to what He had in mind for your life? John 9:4 says, "I must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work."

Take time today to ask yourself, "Whose work have I been working?" “Am I fulfilling God’s purpose upon my life?”  The time to serve the Lord is now, during our “day”.

Let us rise in faith, commitment and devotion, like Joshua, and say “….we will service the Lord”  And as you labor in His vine-yard, He alone will give you a reward that no man can give, and silver/gold can never buy, in Jesus Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2023.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

Word of Our Testimony

From Our Pastor's Desk

Revelations 12:11 - "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."

In John 9, we read a story of a man born blind from birth, and healed by Je-sus. He received his sight on the Sabbath, which was a problem for the Pharisees.

When they called the formerly blind man to hear his story, he gave a simple yet powerful personal eyewitness testimony.

"All I know is this: Once I was blind, and now I can see!"

You and I are often given the opportunity to use the power of our eyewitness testimony to convince others of God's grace, love and mercy and to encourage our brothers and sisters.

The text says, "they over-came him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony." Jesus has done His part in perfectly defeating the enemy.

He shed His blood and rose from the grave.  Now we must do  ours by telling our testimony!  Every time you tell it, it  reminds the devil he’s defeat- ed!  Go ahead, don’t be afraid or  ashamed - "tell it!"

Today’s  Testimony Service is an opportunity that the Holy Spirit has  given us to tell our story of His great, amazing and wonderful things the Lord has done in our lives.

ALL TO HIS GLORY. May He fill our mouths with many more testimonies, in Jesus Name. Amen. You will have good success this 2023.  Remain blessed.   Shalom.

January 2023 - Month of Naaman’s Wife’s Maid

From Our Pastor's Desk

Welcome to this our new Month of Naaman’s Wife’s Maid in Jesus name.  2nd Kings 5:1-3 – “…he was also a mighty man in valor, but he was a leper. And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy”

The story of that little maid is a story loyalty, love and commitment.

A story of allegiance to the betterment of a family, in spite of the fact that she was taken captive from Israel by said family or foreign nation of Syria.

And she did not forget where she came from, the God that she served back home in Israel. She did not lose her faith in her God. So, she said unto her boss, Naaman’s wife, just let the general go to the prophet in Samaria. He would be healed of his leprosy, for God is with the prophet.

Mercy Seatizens, welcome to January 2023, Our Month of Naaman’s Wife’s Maid”. This month & beyond, it does not matter where we find ourselves or what life may bring our way, positive or otherwise, we will never ever lose our faith.

We will even be more committed to God and Godly things & we will not lose our faith, in Jesus Name. Amen.

What is Good for His Glory?

By Deaconess ‘Ronke Ademosu

I was going somewhere one day and I saw a sign along the road that read “A LIFE WITHOUT ANYTHING GOOD IS BAD”.

So true! I pondered on this message and as I started ruminating over it, I prayed to God that I will never live a life devoid of anything good.

Then came the question, “What is good life? I suddenly realized that “our ways are not God’s ways".

The question is also subjective, depending on who is answering it: A spirit filled child of God versus someone without Christ. We live in a world of total decadence, devoid of Godly love, full of conflicts between the spirit and the flesh.

Matt. 6:33 “but seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

A life that does not only possess earthly riches but also enriched by Christ Jesus - That is good life! Everyone has the free will to reason and act according to his/her level of understanding.

But we, as children of the Most High, have been given the power to balance ‘free will’ and ‘determinism’ being guided by the Spirit of God who lives in us.

Pro. 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight...”  This is the will of God concerning those who desire His Glory.

It's our month of “His Glory Here on Earth”, everything that Glory means or represents: honor, greatness, beauty, splendor, power, fame, resto-ration, manifestation of God’s presence here on earth, are available in abundance and Yes, we need them, we love and desire these blessings.

But, how can they be counted as good unto us without compromising God’s standard. 2 Tim. 2:19 “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

May the Lord help us to uphold His standard and not fall short of His glory, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2022.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

Remain Little in Your Own Eyes

From Our Pastor's Desk

1st Samuel 15:17 – “And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?

RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early hours of 15 April 1912, after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City.

There were an estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, and more than 1,500 died, making it the deadliest ocean liner disaster in history.

I watched the true story movie, where the Chief Engineer & Builder declared boastfully & with all air of arrogance, when asked during boarding “how safe the liner was”…he answered and said “even God cannot sink this ship with all His power”.

Well, that was true. God didn’t, only ice did. Now, they’ve started building Titanic 2, an exact replica of the 1912 one. It will make the same voyage as the old one.

The Australian Billionaire (project owner), chief design consultant, engineers etc made the announcement in April 2012.

They said “we commit this project to God. He will help us & have His way” Don’t wait till a disaster, don’t wait for God to humble you (Nebuchadnezzar), before you humble yourself.

There is your own place in destiny. You have your own place of glory. Stay in your lane, your station of glory. Don’t touch God’s glory, don’t covet it, no, don’t try it.

He doesn’t share it with anybody – no matter who. Stay humble; stay little in your own eyes. Let God exalt you, let others edify you, let people extol you. May the Lord exalt you and give you grace as you humble yourself, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2022.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

From Story to Glory

 From Our Pastor's Desk

2nd Samuel 9:10-13 – “Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread alway at my table.

Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants...As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons…And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.

So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet”.

This is a very wonderful and interesting story from the Bible and it shows that it is not over until it is over.

The name, Mephibosheth, means "he who scatters shame” He was also called Meribbaal in 1st Chron. 8:34, which means contender with Baal. But, he was, instead, a carrier and bearer of shame, a victim and casualty of Baal.

What a life contrary to his name he lived, until Mercy and Grace knocked on his door. God can use anybody, when the set time has come.

Imagine the life of that crippled boy at Lodebar, without any hope. But God used king David to change all that. He gave him lands, and servants to work the land, and a place of honor at the king's table.

It does not matter how long you have spent in captivity, the important thing is that Jesus will intervene in your situation.

Your story will turn to glory.  Divine help and intervention is already on the way for you, now. The story of your life will be rewritten for good, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2022.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

December 2022 - Month of His Glory on Earth

From Our Pastor's Desk

Welcome to this our new Month of His Glory on Earth in Jesus name.

Matthew 6:13 – “…For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen”

Quite often the Heavens decide to visit earth. It is God’s desire that His Heavenly Kingdom takes over the worldly kingdom here on earth.

God’s purpose is to bring His kingdom to earth, not people going to heaven is the priority, though eventual.

His purpose is for the Heavens (kingdom, power & glory) to come down, so that the culture of heaven, language, dress code, habits, nature of heaven’s community, hosts of heaven, be reflected on earth.

When God’s presence comes, His glory appears. And very bright round-about, on every side, is His glory.  Isaiah 60:1 says "  A rise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee"

We have no glory of our own, except that which comes from the Lord.  Mercy Seatizens, welcome to December 2022, “Our Month of His Glory on Earth”.

Oh Lord, this month and beyond, let your glory be seen in every area of our lives. Let our glory shine brighter each passing day.

Exodus 40:34 - Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

Father, let the cloud of your shekinah glory fill every Mercy Seatizen, young & old, male & female, in Jesus Name.

Amen.
