We all need somebody to lean on in life, because there will always come a time in everyone’s journey that they will get tired or discouraged.
Even our Lord and savior Jesus Christ needed someone to lean on and God had to send an angel to come and minister to Him in Matthew 4:11.
In Job 2:11-13, we saw how three friends all came together from different location to sympathize with their friend Job. Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar.
These men the bible said that when they’ve heard all that have befallen Job their friend agreed to visit him, their mission was clear, but whether they accomplished the task is a story for another day.
As 2 Corinthians 8:12 puts it, “For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.” God is not asking us to give what we don’t already have, but that which we do have.
2 Samuel 14:32-37, we saw Hushai the Archite came to meet David with his coat rent, and earth upon his head, but David told him not to be a burden by going with him, but he should go back to the palace and be his eyes and ears there.
And in 2 Samuel 17:7-8,14-16, Hushai was the one that God used to give a counter counsel which saved the king’s life. Ahithophel’s counsel described in 2 Samuel 16:23, “Is like one who had enquired at the oracle of God.”
In 17:23, he went home after his counsel was rejected and hanged himself. And in Acts 9:36, we’ll look at the life of Tabitha (Dorcas) who was full of good works and alms deeds.
Let us also learn from Aaron and Hur, in Exodus 17:12, they supported and held up Moses hands so that Israel could defeat their enemy.
My prayer is that God will bless each of us to be able to lend a helping hand, in Jesus Name.
You will have good success this 2023.
Remain blessed.
Shalom.
