Power to Make a Difference

By Lisa Eziokwu

In Acts 8:1-3, Apostle Paul who was then named Saul was mentioned among those killing Christians and persecuting the church, on his way to create more havoc he had an encounter with Jesus that completely changed his life for good - Acts 9 and from then henceforth he began to preach Christ and made a great difference in his time.

He is credited with writing about half the books in the New Testament. Timothy was one of Apostle Paul’s spiritual children and in 2 Timothy 1:6-7, he encouraged Timothy to “stir up the gift of God in you … for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind”.

God has given us different gifts and talents that we can use through his power to make a difference in our homes, the church, our schools, community and in the world!

Right now during this BLM (Black Live Matters) moment, many people are trying to make a difference, but you should know the line between making a good difference and making a bad difference.

It is not enough to sign petitions or join protests, let us also make a good difference; let our parents not be named amongst the fraudsters, drunkards or child molesters. As children, let us make the right choices and stay away from bad friends, gangs and drugs, let us get educated and use our God given gifts/talent to bring positive change; with God on our side, no one can stop us!

“A  man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men” - Proverbs 18:16. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might” - Ephesians 6:10 and may God equip us to do great things for  Him, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

You will have a great turn-around this 2020.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.
