From Our Pastor's Desk
Governor Felix, in Acts 24, who was privileged to hear the Gospel, and was so convicted of his need for a Savior that he actually "trembled", but what did he do?
He procrastinated, or he "put it off", and he told the Apostle Paul in verse 25, "Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee."
Friend, we never read where Governor Felix ever had "a convenient season", or another chance to get saved. No, his chance for salvation had come and gone.
The Bible has a lot to say about procrastination. Most of us struggle with procrastination in one or more areas of our lives. But what we need to do, let’s do quickly.
Be a “NOW” man/woman. Don’t be a “LATER” man, a sluggard. Don’t be like Felix. Be urgent in your affairs. Proverbs 24 says: I passed by the field of the sluggard And by the vineyard of the man lacking sense, And behold, it was completely over- grown with thistles; Its surface was covered with nettles, And its stone wall was broken down. When I saw, I reflected upon it; I looked, and received instruction. “A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest,” Then your poverty will come as a robber And your want like an armed man (vv. 30-34).
Henceforth, we receive grace to focus on our divine assignments and goals; I command the spirit of procrastination, time wastage and misdirection to perish by fire, in Jesus name.
You will have good success this 2018.
Remain blessed. Shalom.
