Jethro-nomics

Jethro-nomics is the Biblical business study and consultancy using the principles, practices, thoughts and benefits of the pre, during & post-effect of the Godly counsel given to Moses by his father-in-law Jethro - Deji Adewale. 

Very interesting concept, for an equally interesting situation, resulting in a well-deserved and appropriate counsel. Jethro watched Moses as he put in long hours day after day. 

And Jethro said to him: "What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. 

The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone.” Exodus 18:17-18. When Moses led the people of God out of Egypt there were at least 600,000 men with their wives and children (Exodus 12:37). 

And all day long, every day for several weeks, he’s been in the desert with these people and he has constantly been judging their many conflicts and disputes. 

Very tiring. Both for Moses & the people. Why didn’t God tell Moses directly what to do in regards to judging the people? It wasn’t that God spoke to Moses but he didn’t listen due to ego or pride. 

Moses was meek. But you see, God never designed us to work alone.  Do not stand alone or be an authority on your own! 

By doing that, you could become another Samson who refused to listen to his parent's counsel. The Lord grant us grace to listen to our Jethros and follow Godly counsel , in Jesus Name.
