InsideOut Children’s Week 2022 - I am Rich in Christ Jesus

By Sarah “ChiChi” Nnaji

The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 8:9 saying, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”

The truth remains that the Lord wants every one of His children to become rich through His sacrifices that He had already made, but as we all know that the Lord does not force anything on His children, He gives them the freedom to choose.

As Isaiah 1:19 has it, “If you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.”

So, there must first be a willingness to become rich on the bases of what the Lord has done, that Christ gave up His riches for your sake and my sake, that we might take His place in riches.

The keyword high-lighted here is ‘might’ which means that it is optional and not a must, riches are not only monetary as some people may only see money as the yardstick to measure those who are rich. The spies that Moses sent to spy the land of Canaan knew the promises of God regarding the land that God promised their fathers from Abraham down to Jacob and was going to fulfil it in their own generation, and they knew the process has started.

But ten out of these 12 spies instead did not align themselves with what God was doing, and when such happens, the ship sails or the train departs leaving such ones behind.  In Luke 12:32 Jesus says, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

So then, if God is not interested in the prosperity of His children, Jesus would not have given up His riches in the first place.

And God is not only interested in supplying all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, He wants us to also be a conduit with which other peoples need are supplied.

May God not only supply our needs, but may other peoples need be supplied through us, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2022.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.
