Fight for Your Family

From Our Pastor's Desk

Our families today are under attack like never before, it’s time to reclaim our homes for Christ. Families falling apart is not new.

We see Satan attacking the home and the family way back in the Garden of Eden. Where we see Adam & Eve disobeying God then their son Cain getting angry and killed his brother Abel.

Genesis 4:8 “Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let’s go out to the field."

And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Satan has not changed his strategy. He’s a liar from the beginning and a liar today. A deceiver, who abides not in the truth. His goal has always been to divide and conquer.

As part of their growing up experience, children must most often contend with drugs, alcohol, sexual diseases, crime, social media predators, bullies, violence, assault, and abuse.

As such, in this 21st century, parents must guard their children against all these harmful things, some of which our parents never had to deal with.

Nehemiah 4:14 – “And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses”

Hence, we must use everything in our spiritual, intellectual, physical, and psychological arsenal to fight for our families. The Lord help & enable us, in Jesus mighty Name.

Amen.

You will have good success this 2022.

Remain blessed.

Honor the Covenant of the ‘Hood

From Our Pastor's Desk

Acts 17:26 – “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation”

This scripture tells us that God hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth.

By this we understand that all nations are of one blood. This indicates the brotherhood of all men. We are all made "of one blood."

The whole family of man-kind, with all its thousand millions, has descended from one pair—from Adam and Eve.

Kings and their subjects, rich and poor, learned and unlearned, prince and pauper, the educated and the untutored, the fashionable lady and the shabby,—all, will trace their pedigree, to one man and one woman.

All the dwellers in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America originally sprung from Adam and Eve. We were all "made of one blood." As we are all of "one blood", then we ought to behave as members of one great family.

We ought to "love as brethren." We ought to put away from us anger, wrath, malice, quarrelling, as especially hateful in the sight of God.

1st Peter 2:17 admonishes us all that we should “Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king”  May the love of God be shed abroad in our hearts, to shower upon each other as members of God’s Family, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen

You will have good success this 2022. Remain blessed.  Shalom.

The Greatest of All is Love

By Pastor ‘Kemi Epidi

Love is a big deal in God’s family. Despite our familiarity with the word, Love, it is one of the most misunderstood words.

Loving our families as Jesus loves us means loving our families without expectations, selflessly with faithfulness and graciously without reservation.

We must love our families as Jesus loves us to have God reigning in our homes.

If we learn this, then our homes will be great and exemplary example of God’s family here on earth.

Romans 5:6-8 says “For while we were still weak , at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”

We all have expectations for other people which often leads to disappointment when our expectations are not met. We interpret that as failure or lack of love from others which causes family relationships to disintegrate.

We should not withdraw our love when expectations are not met. God’s love was freely given regardless of who we were or what we have done.

He didn’t seek His own welfare first, but ours. When we operate in the same manner, it becomes the love of God operating in our hearts. It should be spontaneous, overflowing, and seeks nothing in return. There is no God’s family, no joy or peace without love.

The love of God never fails. May the love of God be shed abroad in our hearts, to shower upon each other as members of God’s Family, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen

You will have good success this 2022.

Remain blessed.  Shalom.

We Cry "Abba Father"

From Our Pastor's Desk

Romans 8:15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Abba is the Hebrew word for father. Just like Jesus Christ (Mark 14:36) & Paul (Galatians 4:6), we also cry Abba, to address God in a relation of personal, deep intimacy.

Just like calling our earthly father “Daddy”. Also, just like Abba (or Ab), another root word for father is Pater (Greek), and they all basically mean source, foundation, upholder…etc.

The source of a thing is its ab or father. The upholder. Father is the source that upholds every-thing that comes from it. In Isaiah 41:10, the Lord tells us to “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” He is our Up-holder.

We are His children. No matter how old we become, we are still children be-fore our Father in Heaven! As our earthly fathers do, even more so our Father in heaven will

 Pamper & Prosper us,

 Nurture & Nourish us,

 Enrich & Empower us,

 Care & Cater for us,

 Love, & Lavish His attention upon us,

 Guide & Guard us.

That the Lord God, our Abba Father, cherishes us as His children, will be evident for all to see, this day and forever, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen

You will have good success this 2022.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.
