"War of Words" Series - Part 2: The Needful

Luke 10:41-42 – “And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her” Needful means “necessary for living; absolutely essential; indispensable; inevitable; required”. 

Our desire is to know God more and more. If we are to, then, know Him, we must know His word, because He is His Word, and His Word is Himself. Our faith is a “word-based Faith”. 

Acts 6:4  But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word The quality of our Christian lives will depend upon the way we view the Word of God and our disposition towards it. 

This is one of the basic issues to settle early on in the Christian life. For a steady, sturdy spiritual growth and life, the Word of God should be all in all. There is a ring of certainty and finality to God’s word. 

We live by the Word. The Word, as contained in the Bible, is the final arbiter in the life of the believer. Its verdict is final on all aspects of human behavior and endeavor – spiritual, physical, secular, social, material, etc. 

Many Christians go through months and years of their lives without reading the Bible. Still they seem to be quite satisfied.  Joshua 1:8 – “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night...” 

The Lord will grant us the grace to always choose the “needful”, the Word of God, that can never be taken away from us, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

"War of Words" Series - Part 1. The 1st Words

John 1:1-4, 14 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made…And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”  Friend, a key to our warfare is Jesus Christ. 

He is the Word of God. We should base our warfare on the Word. The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, is our offensive weapon. 

It is incredibly powerful and effective at driving away the enemy and tearing down his work. Some Christians are reluctant to speak directly to satan and his demons. 

Yet God has clearly told us that they are the enemy and that He has given us a powerful weapon to use against them in the form of the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God. 

To attack our spiritual enemies with the Word means simply that we must speak God's Word against them.  This season of the Lord’s Army, we want to look at the first words spoken by some speakers, their beginning words, which are significant and really show us how the speakers fight their battles. 

Following the Biblical Law of First Mention, which simply means that the very first time any important word is mentioned/spoken in the Bible is key to understanding the word's Biblical concept, the speaker, and to also provide a foundation for its fuller development in later parts of the Bible. 

So, we’re looking at “the 1st Words of God, man, and satan”. Lord, “In the beginning was the Word”; let your Word create a new beginning for us, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

Fear Not, God Has Your Back

“… This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2nd Chronicles 20:15 

Beloved, we live in a world that is full of battles, troubles, challenges, contentions, uncertainties, storms and so on, but the Word of God gives us a comforting assurance in Romans 8:37-39; John 6:33. 

As Children of God, we are also members of His great army and Jesus is the Lord of Host. He has won the battle of life and has given us the victory. 

Our task is to march forward boldly and courageously, claiming and declaring this victory as we exercise our faith, believing God’s Word regarding this great accomplishment. 

We are an army of faith and armed with the word of God, we are battle axes in His hand. God has taught and shown us to fight by believing His word and living by it always. We are weaponized by the word of God and the enemy cannot withstand us. 

God’s will for us is to live victoriously always and this is why Apostle Paul admonishes us in Romans 6:10-18 to put on “the Whole Armor of God “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  

Be encouraged.in the Lord, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

SouledOut Teenagers' Week 2020 - The BRAVE - Bold, Ready Army for Victorious Engagement

The theme for the SouledOut Teenagers’ Week is The B.R.A.V.E.  

To be bold. A ready army for victorious engagement. Every one of us has battles to fight. Whether they be internal or external, we all have to face hardships.

 

There are hardships in the form of addiction, depression, anxiety, stress, and temptation. Every day that we are alive we struggle to do, think, and say the right thing.

 

We also face financial hardship, health complications, and problems in our relationships. No matter who we are or where we are, life can always throw us a curveball. 

And if you and I are to prevail and be victorious in the face of these hardships, we must have courage. We must be brave.

The bible says in Joshua 1:9 says “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” 

Our job as Christians is to have faith in him. To believe in ourselves and our God. All we must do is commit ourselves to and have faith in him. 

Then as we reaffirm our allegiance to him, he will build into us qualities that make us strong and noble--including bravery. The bravery to live victoriously. 

To be brave, we must overcome fear. Fear beckons us from every corner of our lives and seeks to steal our victories. But who will you obey? 

Will it be the fear that comes from the world or will it be the words of God? May we all achieve victory through bravery and over-come fear, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.
