Let Him Be Your GPS

By Pastor 'Tayo Adewale

The Lord promised, in the book of Isaiah 42:16, to lead us in the way we do not know. He is the all-knowing God. The road we never travelled might be the road to our marital life, new career, business, academics, moving to a new place, buying houses, car, etc.

Life involves making decisions at different levels and under various circumstances. God is ready and willing to help us navigate our way through life, successfully.

Decision making is the most vital aspect of life because the quality of a person’s decision determines the level of success or failure he or she attains.

Jesus Christ is the only wise God, our counsellor, the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). We need Him in this journey of life. Seek Him first (Mathew 6:33), let Him be your navigator, listen to Him, trust Him totally, and as you do this, He will lead, guide, and counsel you as He promised in the book of Psalm 32:8, and you will not make a wrong decision that will change your course of destiny for evil, in Jesus Name.

To avoid foundational mistake in your decision making, let the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit guide you to make wise decisions in life.

May the Lord help us as we do this, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

You will have a great turn-around this 2020.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

Get Wisdom? But How. Where?

From Our Pastor's Desk

We seek and get knowledge, maybe from reading or from college, and gain understanding of the knowledge.

Once we understand the knowledge that has been given to us, then there is now one more step we will need to have in order to be able to properly use that knowledge - and that step is having the wisdom to be able to use that knowledge in a real life situation.

Many college graduates understand the knowledge that they have learned through many of their college courses - but they lack the wisdom to be able to actually apply it in the real world.

You have all heard the term that someone may be "book-smart" - but lack the common sense and wisdom to be able to use this knowledge in the real working world. Proverbs 4:7 - Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

The word of God gives for our application a profound instruction as to the attainment of wisdom. The Bible speaks very plainly to us about the importance of having wisdom.

Wisdom is what puts all of the puzzle pieces of our lives together in the proper order.  Those pieces labeled "knowledge" and "experience" and "situations" all fit together in the proper place and in the proper order when wisdom arranges the pieces.

But where and how do we get wisdom?  The message of today will try to point us to some directions of how & where. But, ultimately the book of James 1:5 says, “if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to him”.

It is God that gives wisdom. He is the source of wisdom. May every aspect of our lives only hear, identify, discern, and positively respond to the voice of the God as the true source of all wisdom , in Jesus mighty Name. Amen. You will have a great turn-around this 2020.

Remain blessed.
Shalom.

Value Wisdom

By Deaconess Oluchi Mfon

King Solomon with all his magnificent wealth and possessions, understood the value of wisdom. For wisdom is better than rubies and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her. Proverbs 16:16 "how much better is it to get wisdom than gold..."

In the book of Proverbs, Solomon speaks about how valuable wisdom is. What is so valuable  about wisdom? Wisdom protects,  enriches, honors, and makes life  beautiful.

Wisdom goes  far beyond all riches of this world.  The physical riches of this world do  not last. Yet, wisdom is durable! I don't think anyone would turn  down a bag of full of silver and gold, but if you had a bag full of wisdom which would you choose?

Get wisdom. Do you realize that God the creator and owner of all riches tells us that wisdom is far better than rubies? The wisdom of God is hidden in Christ Jesus.

He was the wisdom personified. When He talks, wisdom is talking, in order words He is our wisdom. Embrace Him and become wise.

You can bank on wisdom. The person who gets wisdom will do what is honorable and in the end will be recognized for it.

Hold fast to wisdom, Brethren, so that you will be able to sit down at the end of life and say to God, you have done glorious things, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

You will have a great turn-around this 2020.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

Whose Voice Are You Listening to?

From Our Pastor's Desk

Proverbs 1:7 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Same emphasis was made in Proverbs 9:10 God is the source of all knowledge. And He speaks.

If all of us will truthfully seek wisdom by listening, we might just hear the voice of God. He spoke throughout the scriptures, through the prophets, judges, kings, teachers, shepherds, in Old Testament and then sent His Son Jesus to speak to us about Him and then sent the Holy Spirit to teach us what was written before and bring everything to our remembrance.

Unfortunately, there are many other voices out there speaking. Man speaks. The devil, satan, the liar and the father of lies spoke in the days of old and still speaks.

He got the ear of Eve. Even though God came down in the cool of the day to speak & fellowship with Adam & eve daily in the garden of Eden, Eve still listened to the voice of satan and obeyed the voice of false wisdom, thereby disobeying God.

Mankind has been in sorrow ever since as the devil laughs. God is still speaking to us today, but we have to take care who we listen to or who has our ears. If the voice we hear is not matching up with what God has already said in His Word, we are hearing the wrong voice.

There are many strange voices out there. We teach our children about the danger of talking to or listening to strangers. That is true in the spiritual as well as the physical realm.

John 10:5 - And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers John 10:27 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Who has your ear? Whose voice are you following; Christ's or a stranger?  According to Isaiah 11:2, may the Spirit of the LORD rest on us, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

You will have a great turn-around this 2020.
Remain blessed.
Shalom.

April 2020 - Our Month of Godly Wisdom & Counsel

From Our Pastor's Desk

Welcome to this our new Month of Godly Wisdom & Counsel, in Jesus name. Rev. 7:12 – “Saying, A men: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen”
Yes, Wisdom! Having wisdom is important. Wisdom puts all of the puzzles of our lives together in the proper order.

They all fit together in the proper place& order when wisdom arranges the pieces. But where do we get wisdom?  Godly wisdom.

The wisdom that God gives. Different from earthly wisdom or wisdom of man. 1st Kings 10:24 says “And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart” Man’s wisdom is foolishness to God, but a godly wisdom is above all wisdom of this world.

And counsel provides direction or advice as to a decision or future course of action. Godly counsel is therefore, counsel that God gives & has His hands in, based on His words. Psalms 16:7 says “I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel...”

In this Month of Godly Wisdom & Counsel and beyond, we ask God for His wisdom & counsel so as to apply in our life affairs, daily endeavors, careers, relationships, business ventures, health-related issues, vocations, & our relationship with God.

The Lord will give us godly wisdom, knowledge & understanding to know & declare with boldness His counsel without fear and favor, in Jesus Name.

Amen.
