No More Excuses

From Our Pastor's Desk

Luke 14:18 - "And they all with one consent began to make excuse."   In the New Testament, the apostles turned their world and generation upside down with the message of God’s salvation through Jesus Christ.
They were bold, moved by love and desire to see the gospel reach everywhere they could get to. They and their converts faced horrible persecution, were imprisoned and thrown to lions, yet their faith spread throughout the world.

All these, through just 11 dedicated disciples. Today, it’s a different story. The harvest is much more plenteous but laborers are few. Millions of unbelievers go on in their sins, many of whom never hear a Christian witness.

The voices of Christians are scarcely ever noticed but the voices of political radicals, eastern cults, and homosexuality are heard loudly in the streets and in the media.

We now have excuses than ever to not preach the gospel.
  "I don't feel called to do evangelism.  That is the work of the evangelist and pastor.
  "I'm too busy to do evangelism.  My job, my family, and my church activities occupy all my time."
  “You see, some people are extroverts, but I am an introvert, I am shy. So I do not witness to others” And so on.

But “No more excuses”. By His special grace, during our watch, the Great Commission shall not turn to the Great Omission.

We WILL shine our Light, in Jesus Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2018.

Remain blessed.

Shalom.

Let Your Light Shine

By Min. Rowan Samuel

It is a historic fact that there lived a man from Galilee named Jesus Christ who was crucified, dead, buried and rose from the dead.

At Pentecost He had His disciples out to the Mount Olivet and before His ascension, He commanded and commissioned them in Matthew 28:18-20 to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen”

With this command believers are mandated to get out of their comfort zones and evangelize the people of the world but as the stiff necked people that we are, He said “Go” but we want to stay within our four walls and sometimes it takes adversity to drive us out.

Proverbs 11:30 – “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise”  God’s promise to us as we obey the Great Commission is in Psalms 92:14 – “They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing”, in Jesus Name. Amen.

You will have good success this 2018.

Remain blessed.

Caring For The Things of God

By Bro Arinze Igweh

1st Corinthians 7:32 – “But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord” God has always had effective servants who have been single.
Abel had no family. Boaz married quite late in life (Ruth 4:13). Mary, Jesus Christ’s mother, was called when still single (Matthew 1:18).

Paul, the Spirit-inspired writer of three-quarter of the New Testament, was not married, yet was the most effective soul-winner, after our Lord Jesus Christ.

The questions to ponder are:
1. How can single Christians serve God more effectively?
2. What are the things of God to care for?
We are called primarily to do the Work of God. This great work of God is the way He has set before us for each to grow and develop spiritually. Singles do play a major role in God’s Church.

But whatever state we are in, single or married, we are being called into the Great Commission of building & propagating God’s Kingdom. Not doing anything in Church, being cold or lukewarm, is dangerous: Satan seeks out those whom he can devour. Remember Galatians 6:9: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

The harvest is plenteous but the labourers are few. The Lord will strengthen us for the work ahead, in Jesus Name.

You will have good success this 2018.

Remain blessed.

One-Verse Evangelism

From Our Pastor's Desk

With excerpts on the RCCGNA website, “One-Verse Evangelism” is based on Romans 6:23—”For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of Godis eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

It presents the evangelism message in a simple way, with only one scripture to remember.

It is:
- Short and effective
- Crucial especially when time is limited
- Expandable. Examples are optional
- Easy for listener to understand
- Easy to learn and use
- Only 1 verse to memorize
- No need to flip bible pages back and forth
- Gives opportunity to assess listener’s understanding of the Bible

Remember, the power to change lives is not in the illustration, it is the Spirit of God that opens the heart to hear and respond —John 6:63-65.

You will have good success this 2018.

Remain blessed. Shalom.

September 2018 - Our Month of the Great Commission

From Our Pastor's Desk

Welcome to this Our New Month of the Great Commission, in Jesus name. Luke 5:10 – “…And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men” Brethren, God has chosen us, for such a time & place in history as this, so that we could help carry out His plan.
God has something specifically for each & every one of us to do. Jesus tells us very clearly what it is in Mark 16:15 - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."

Another translation says, "Preach the good news to everybody everywhere." This is the Great Commission, for all of us.

Every believer is a minister. We have to be responsible for our families, friends, neighbors, & colleagues etc., making sure they know the Lord.  Are we doing everything we can possibly do? We have to write that letter, make that phone call, & visit that neighbor.

We are the body of Christ on the earth. God has no arms to love & hug except our arms. God has no voice to encourage & uplift except our voice.
The only smile that God has here on this earth is our smile.

We are ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ. We represent Jesus while we're here on this earth.  In this Month of the Great Commission, I challenge us to stir ourselves up & get busy sharing the good news with the people that we know & meet daily.

God is counting on us.

He will grant us all grace, to share the good news, in Jesus mighty Name.

Amen.
