Time to Speak

From Our Pastor's Desk

Ecclesiates 3:1 – “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every pur-pose under the heaven…a time to keep silence, and a time to speak…” Still on the plan set forth by the Lord in Joshua 6.

A continuation of last week’s discussion, illustrating the principle that God’s plan of salvation and deliverance is not a plan that man would design.  On the 7th day, God instructed them to do an accelerated marching, then to make a loud noise.

The 7th day, the day of completion.  The problem with many of us is that we do 6 days of noise-making, shouting, then 1 day of silence.

When we go into battle, we announce our presence…then the mighty men of the cities take positions, the kings take positions and they start shooting their arrows.

But God says, don’t let them have any clue what you are about to do. You’re coming from underground; underneath them don’t make noise, confuse your enemy  On the final day, God told them to go round 7 times.

Then the 7th time, to make a loud, earth-quaking shout. Speaking, at the right time, in an indication of making use of a right moment, right opportunity. There is a time and season for everything on earth. A lot of people inexplicably miss their opportunities or appointed seasons, to speak out. Opportunities by nature is only available to us for a limited time before it is moved on for another person.

For example, Jesus’ walk through Jericho was not just any opportunity for Bartimaeus, it was his only chance as it was the very last time the Lord would walk that way to Jerusalem before His crucifixion. For Bartimaeus, it was his set time, he entered into it and his story changed for good.

May we never miss our time appointed, in Jesus Name.

You will have good success this 2017.

Remain blessed.

Part 1 - Time to Keep Silence

From Our Pastor's Desk

Ecclesiates 3:1 – “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…a time to keep silence, and a time to speak…”

The plan set forth by the Lord in Joshua 6 certainly illustrates the principle that God’s plan of salvation and deliverance is not a plan that man would design. If Joshua had met with his military advisors, no one would have come up with this unusual plan.

Six days of utter silence & 1 day of deafening shout. The ordinary methods and weapons of warfare like battering rams or scaling ladders or towers were not to be used at all.

A strategy not employed again with other cities, it teaches us that though we have human responsibilities in tearing down the strongholds raised up against the knowledge of God, victory is dependent on two things: God’s power and faith in His instructions. Hebrews 11:30 When God gives instructions, they are detailed and specific.

God wants His instructions carried out accurately and in details. HE gave Israel specific instructions.  Part of the divine instructions is the weapon of silence. I imagined this must be difficult for them.

Millions of people marching around a city without a word, not even a whisper! There were the priests with their trumpets, those with the ark, the armed men and then the rest of the people. They were to be in utter silence.

Even the women & children. For six whole days. This strategy illustrates and teaches us the principle of being silent before God and just resting in Him.

Exodus 14:14 – “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent…”, in Jesus Name You will have good success this 2017.

Remain blessed.

Trust in God's Perfect Timing

By: Bro. Sola Afolabi

Imaginative thinking of God's Time.

Human Timing— 60min = 1hour; 24hours = 1 Day; 7days = 1 week; 4 weeks = 1 Month; and 12month = 1 year
God’s Timing - 2 Peter 3:8-9 (MSG) - “Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day.

God isn’t late with His promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want any-one lost.

He’s giving everyone space and time to change.” God’s Time of 1 Day = Human Time of 1000

Years Cross Analysis:
* For us to live a day in God Time, we need to live a thousand years.
* In human calendar, we are in 2017 (two thousand and seventeen years). God has only lived 2 days of our entire human calendar.
*Just like two parallel lines, if we compare our time to God’S Time, we can never receive the answers to our prayers

Conclusion:
God created humans; humans created the clock. But humans want to time God with the clock.  Our God is not a human mathematician, His grace is sufficient for us and we just need to trust in his Time. We trust in God promises, now we need to trust in God’s Timing. Believing in God’s promises and not trusting God’s Timing leads to frustration.

You will have good success this 2017.
Remain blessed.
Shalom.

The Law of Timing

From Our Pastor's Desk

Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose un-der the heaven…” John Maxwell said in his book, “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” that the Law of Timing is that “when to lead is as important as what to do and where to go.”
Also, Winston Churchill once remarked “there comes a special moment in everyone’s life, a moment for which that person was born. That special opportunity, when they seize it, will fulfill their mission – a mission for which they are uniquely qualified.

In that moment they find greatness. It is their finest hour.” Put in another phrase, we can say the law of timing, in conjunction with Churchill, preaches “there are certain windows of opportunity when – if you don’t take a risk and move forward – your effectiveness could come to a standstill”

So, it’s not just enough to have a special moment, one must seize that moment by understanding/operating within the law or timing. One must recognize that window of opportunity, seize it and make use of it, to the fullest.

An opportunity is a favorable time or occasion when we make a decision that will impact our lives in a positive way; it can be described as a gift from the Lord.  In Mark 10:46-52, Jesus decided to walk through Jericho. It became a God-ordained opportunity for those in Jericho. It was not just any opportunity for Bartimaeus, it was his only chance as it was the very last time the Lord would walk that way to Jerusalem before His crucifixion.

For Bartimaeus, it was his set time, he entered into it and his story changed for good. Blind beggar Bartimaeus understood the law of timing, recognized the opportunity, and made up his mind to seize his season. May we never miss our set time & appointed time, in Jesus Name You will have good success this 2017.

Remain blessed.
Shalom.

From Our Pastor's Desk - November is Our Month of God's Perfect Timing

Welcome to this Our New Month of God’s Perfect Timing, in Jesus name. God has a fixed time for everything. Eccl.3:1—"For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven" God plans His time and keeps to it. God is a Master Planner.
John Maxwell concurs with Solomon in his “Law of Timing” that there is a time/season for everything.

We are beings of times and seasons. Whoever controls our times & seasons controls our destiny.

Time is essential to our lives. We plan our lives based on time. But with all this planning, & “time management” we are left, most times, “waiting”.
We wait on life; we wait on God for answers to prayers, for healing, promotion, relationships, etc. And nothing is more irritating to us than waiting. Why should we be waiting? The answer lies in God’s perfect timing. He is never early or late.

God will bring the right persons & right things into our lives at His right time. We should always believe that. If they are not there, God isn't finished yet!

We should not doubt, resist, or resent God’s timing when it doesn’t correlate with our plans, or desires.  This month of God’s Perfect Timing, and beyond, God will order our times and seasons in Jesus name.

He will make ALL things beautiful for us, in His time, in Jesus Name.
Amen.
